v s (see figure 3 ) . the board accommodates single or dual supplies. for single - supply operation, connect the negative supply to the ground plane. it is very important that the p ower supply pins of the device under test (dut) have a broadband decoupling circuitry. the board layout facil itates this with footprints for a 0 6 0 3 ceramic capacitor ( c 1 and c 2 ) on each supply. bulk decoupling is provided by c 3 and c 4 ; 10 f tantalum capac itors are recommended. v ocm input to set the output common - mode voltage of the ad8476 , a n external voltage can be applied to vocm via j3 (referenced to the ground plane of the board) or the vocm test poi nt . in adc driving applications, it is convenient to apply the adc dc reference voltage output directly to j3 . a 0.1 f capacitor (c5) is used in normal applications to provide bypassing for the dc voltage applied to the v ocm pin. vocm can also be left u nconnected. the ad8476 internally set s the output common - mode to mid - supply. sm b input/output connect ors the inputs and outputs have through - hole smb connector footprint s (which are compatible with most sma con nector footprints) for convenient connection to coaxial cables. the recom mended connector type is johnson components? , part number 1 31- 0701 - 371 (jack) and 131 - 1801- 371 (plug) , or equivalent. evaluation board user guide ug- 422 rev. 0 | page 5 of 8 evaluation board layout 10778-004 figure 4 . assembly drawing component side 10778-005 figure 5 . component side metallization (msop) 10778-006 figure 6 . circuit side metallization (msop) ug- 422 evaluation board user guide rev. 0 | page 6 of 8 ordering information bill of materials table 1 . qty reference designator package description 2 c3 , c 4 c7343 10 f capacitor 2 c1, c2 c 0 6 0 3 capacitor, 0.1 f 5 j1 to j 5 sm b pcm smb c onnector 9 r1 to r12 r 0603 resistor, u ser d efined v alue 7 +v s, ?
